We had our final contract appointment on the 9th of October. The next day (10th) our plans were lodged with council. On the 13th of November they were approved with no dramas.
We had our electrical appointment on the 6th of November. We went in fairly prepared- with several questions to ask. We were expecting to get a lot less than what we did. We had a bit more money in our budget to play with and were able to get things that we wanted but thought we couldn't afford. We were planning on not getting MJH to do any of the electrical stuff as we thought that it would be too expensive. However, we decided that with so many unexpected inclusions that we would get them to do some of the tricky things. We got some outdoor lights and down lights put into the recess in the bathroom - boring, but exciting for us as it meant less hassle and more $$$$ included/ saved!
We were delighted to hear that our block had been cut on Friday ( November 28). We went and checked it out first thing on Saturday. It makes it all seem real when you see something happening.
I have uploaded some pictures of the block. We have a sloping block so we have a split. I can't wait to step up into the kitchen/ living area after walking through the hall. The only issue that we had was that our raked ceiling (where the split is)- as per the plans- wasn't possible with the steel frame. They have sorted this though and are putting a void-type thing in.....not sure how it will look. Time will tell!
That's all for now. We are back to waiting for something to happen. When the slab is poured I will post some more pictures.
